For those of you who don’t know, I love everything about beer specifically, but booze in general. To keep track of just what I like (and maybe what you should try), I’ll be posting up whatever I’m drinking and giving a short and shallow review — because that’s about me and my unlearned taste buds are capable of at this point.
First up: Bully! Porter from Boulevard Brewing Company
About halfway through, and my mouth was watering for more. That's what she said.
First off, I drink this brew quite often, and it’s one of my favorites. Lots of people get a strong coffee aroma and flavor from Bully!, but it’s the bittersweet chocolate flavor that gets me every time, and I love the twangy finish that I assume comes from a higher-than-most-porters hop content. Try it lukewarm and you’ll be pleased. Like with most porters, as this one warms up, you’ll notice an even deeper and mellower nose and flavor.
I know I’m biased to my local beers, but in my humble opinion, Bully! is definitely a must-try.
